In Luxor players lead a group of explorers that move inside a pyramid plundering the treasures it contains.

The game is mechanically configured as a "race": the explorers always move forward with the use of cards and the players must constantly try to move them in order to form groups of explorers numerous enough to be able to win the treasure tile they are on.

But the game forces you to balance your strategy constantly because moving too slowly allows your opponents to take the most valuable treasures in the center of the pyramid and to buy new cards that allow special movements that facilitate the strategy.

The game is original and interesting with a simple goal of collecting sets embedded in a racing mechanism very well conceived. Very simple to play but with good strategic depth, it deserves to be played at least once by anyone.

In Luxor i giocatori guidano un gruppo di esploratori che si muovono all'interno di una piramide depredando i tesori in essa contenuti.

Il gioco meccanicamente si configura come una "corsa": gli esploratori si muovono sempre avanti con l'uso di carte e i giocatori devono tentare costantemente di muoverli in modo da formare gruppi di esploratori abbastanza numerosi da poter vincere la tessera del tesoro su cui si trovano.

Ma il gioco costringe a bilanciare la propria strategia costantemente perché muoversi troppo lenti permette agli avversari di prendere i tesori di maggior valore al centro della piramide e di comprare nuove carte che permettono movimenti speciali che facilitano la strategia.

Il gioco è originale ed interessante con un semplice obbiettivo di collezione di set incastrato in una meccanica di corsa contro gli avversari. Molto semplice da giocare ma con una buona profondità strategica, merita di essere giocato almeno una volta da chiunque.
